The Hostel
During your
stay you will be in a single study room in the training hostel. The
bathroom is shared between 4 students.
Electricity
This is 220
volts. 50 cycles AC with European 2 point plugs. We normally have a
reliable supply but it is a good idea to bring a
torch.
Laundry
The hostel
staff will wash and iron clothes at no extra charge.
Sport and
Recreation
You can play
table-tennis at ALERT and also join the ALERT tennis club. You will
need to bring your own racquet, shoes and balls.
The hostel has a cassette
player and a TV room to view Ethiopian television programmes and
videos. There is an English news bulletin a 10:30 p.m.
A video library (feature
films) is available at the training division and also a small
library of English novels.
Transport to church or to
the mosque is provided as well as weekly shopping trips to town. On
weekends the training division will sometimes arrange walks and
trips to scenic or interesting sites nearby.

Paying your
bill
If you are
sponsored by an organization, ALERT will directly bill your
sponsoring agency.
If you are
self-sponsored, we will let you know the cost before you come. If
you want, you may transfer the money to the ALERT bank account, but
we prefer that you bring the money with you. |
