Transport
Construction Design Enterprise (TCDE) is a full fledged state owned Consulting Firm that
deals mainly with the Design and Construction Supervision of roads, bridges and airports.
The Enterprise is
established in August, 1987. Before its establishment as an independent Consulting Firm
TCDE had been a division under Ethiopian Roads Authority for about 30 years serving the
same purpose.
The main purposes of
TCDE are as the following :-
- To engage in the activities of
surveying and designing of transport construction works.
- To engage in construction materials
testing and geotechnical investigation.
- To render consultacny services in
Construction Supervision and Contract Administration.
- To engage in any other related
activities necessary for the attainment of its purposes.
TCDE is located at the
center of Addis Ababa : Behind Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) and at a walking distance
to the Ministry of Works and Urban Development, Customs, Banks, Insurance etc.
The Enterprise has
attained more than 40 years of experiences particularly in photogrammetry, surveying,
design, materials investigation and testing and, construction supervision with regard to
roads, bridges and airports.
The Firm has extended
its efforts to give better services with technologically advanced systems and equipment.
Besides, it has a total staff of over 500, among which most of them are qualified
professionals with various disciplines in the field of transport construction engineering.
TCDE is registered as an
Independent Consulting Firm by:-
- International Bank for Reconstruction
and Development (World Bank, Washington D.C)
- United Nations Development Programme
(UNDP : New York)
- African Development Bank (ADB, Abidjan)
- Islamic Development Bank (IDB, Jeddah,
Saudi-Arabia) and
- European Commission (EC)
Further registration with
other funding agencies is on process.
