1.1 Dabat Rural Health Surveillance:
This
project covers an area of about 128 sq. km with topography of low as well as
high
land ranging from 1000 to 2500 Mts. above sea level.
This
project has laid a mature ground and infrastructure for community based
research projects.

2. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER INSTITUTES
The Gondar College of Medical sciences has established a very good working relationship with the Jimma Institute of Health Sciences, Addis Ababa University Medical faculty and Dilla University College. Further more it has a stable link with the Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET) and Bolton Hospital of the United Kingdom, Leicester University, The Health Bureau of the Amhara Regional State, Ministry of Health, Helpage International, World Health Organization.
3. AWARD GIVEN
SASAKAWA GLOBAL HEALTH PRIZE (1998)
The college was awarded the
1998 Global Sasakawo Health Prize during the 50th General
Assembly of WHO, Geneva, Switzerland. Three of its
programmes were nominated for this international award.
