Forum on Street Children - Ethiopia (FSCE) is an indigenous not for profit, non governmental organization established at the end of 1989 by a group of social development professionals working in child-focused organizations. It was established in response to the increase in the number of orphaned and abandoned children in Addis Ababa caused by the drought and famine of 1984/85. As provided by the relevant laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, FSCE has been duly registered in the Ministry of Justice in 1992 as a voluntary non-profit making organization with a registration Number of 237.
VISION
FSCE's vision is to see the rights of urban disadvantaged children respected by the society.

MISSION
As a child-oriented and right based organization, the mission of FSCE is to work for the respect of the rights of street children, sexually abused and exploited children, physically abused children, and children in conflict with the law.

Advocacy: to lobby for the proper implementation of the convention on the rights of the child, and child - related aspects of the social service and social welfare policies of the Government of Ethiopia;
Public awareness raising: aimed at the various sectors of the society on the problem of urban disadvantaged children in general, street children, sexually abused and exploited children in conflict with the law and child labor through workshops, seminars, publications, meetings and using media's to reach the general public;
Implementing pilot and model projects: FSCE implementing community based integrated child focused projects to support low income children, their families and communities with the involvement of all concerned stakeholders.
Information sharing, networking, research and training: constitute the strategies applied by FSCE to network and build the capacity of child oriented government and NGOs.
To conduct action oriented researches to understand the cause and magnitude of urban disadvantaged children.
