For what purpose we use the support money?     go to top
The support money is utilized for the fulfillment of subsistence and educational needs of orphan and destitute children.
While the boarding children are cared in the home-like environment, the reunified /reintegrated children are provided with the monthly stipend within their families or communities.

KNH, our major donor, for example, allocates 54 DEM per child per month, the breakdown of which is indicated as follows:

The programme is subjected to evaluation.
We have been evaluated three times in the last five years and the findings indicated improvements and weaknesses for further corrections.
Consultation, joint project visits and reports are exercised together with donors.
All accounts are audited annually by chartered accountants.

Used to run 36 and now 23 child care centres. (The reduction of the child care centres was due to the introduction of the reunification and reintegration programmes).
Over the years about 13000 children have benefited from the programme.
At present 20000 poor families receive support through the child-family reunification.
857 youth have earned their first second/PhD degrees and diplomas.
1876 youth have graduated in various skills in the last five years.
The nature of the skill training programme is self-employment oriented.
We also facilitate training and employment opportunities for the youth in their respective localities in collaboration with government and private enterprises and workshops.
Most of the former beneficiaries have obtained gainful employment.
While 75% of the beneficiaries are either reunified or reintegrated,
Emphasising female participation in the entire programme 41% of the workers and 32% of the beneficiaries are females
Besides having satellite clinics at every Child Care Centre, we run the only ENT and all-round clinic in Addis Ababa nearby Adua Bridge.
The clinic gave various health care services to 11,427 persons since its establishment in 1996.

Continue running home-like orphanage where it is not possible to place children in families or till reunification, on small scale and strengthening reunification programme.
Conduct community-based child support programme including
AIDS affected children.
Participate in the prevention and curative programme of street children.
Run vocational training and provide start-up help for youth.
Participate in the advocacy of the welfare and rights of children.
Provide support to poor women and child headed families.
Conduct family empower-ment programme.
Provide strengthened education and schooling to the beneficiaries.
Render all round health care services to the beneficiaries as well as communities.
Participate in social mobilisation programmes.
Activate female beneficiary participation in all activities and increase their in-take ratio into the programme.
Encourage development and environment activities.

the enhancement of our strengthened social activities.
We are always ready to establish collaboration with interested organizations and individuals in order to jointly help the needy.
Interested individuals and organizations are welcomed to visit our programmes including obtaining access to our annual audit reports.
