Government Strives To Enable Ethiopians
in Djibouti Acquire Legal Resident Permits
Addis Ababa, March 19(ENA)-- The Ethiopian government has been exerting efforts to enable Ethiopians living in Djibouti to acquire legal resident status in that country, Ethiopia's Ambassador to Djibouti said.
Ambassador Shemsedin Ahmed told ENA on Wednesday that there are several Ethiopians who entered Djibouti and currently live there with out having legal residence permit.
The Ethiopians are currently playing a significant role in the development of Djibouti's economy, Ambassador Shemsedin said.
The Ethiopian government is taking necessary steps to ensure that those who have not acquired legal status to do so, the Ambassador said, adding, the Joint Border Commission of the two countries was continuously striving for settling the issue.
