Meles Receives Messages From African Heads of States

 Addis Ababa, June 2 (ENA)-- Prime Minister Meles Zenawi received a message sent from the Djiboutian president Ismael Omar Guelleh here on Friday.

  Djiboutian Prime Minister Dileita Mohamod Dileita, who was the former Djiboutian ambassador to Ethiopia, delivered the message to Meles, a spokesperson of the ministry of foreign affairs said.

  The message focused on the meeting to be held between the heads of the two states to step up the existing Ethio-Djibouti fraternal relations, the spokesperson said.

 Similarly, Rwandan presidential Advisor, Dr. Emmanuel Ndahiru, delivered Rwandan president Paul Kagame's message to Meles.

 President Kagame expressed in his message Rwanda's desire to deepen its bilateral cooperation with Ethiopia.

The message also dealt with the upcoming discussions to be held between the heads of the two governments on the situation of the Great Lakes Region, the spokesperson said. 

 Meles said on the occasion that Ethiopia was equally willing to strengthen its bilateral relations with Rwanda.

  In a related development, defense minister of the democratic republic of the Congo, Irung A.W. An, handed over to Meles the message from that country's president, Joseph Kabila.

   Kabila recalled that at the heads of state meeting in Sirte, Libya, he had had the opportunity to meet and confer with Prime Minister Meles on ways of consolidating the bilateral ties between his country and Ethiopia.
