Addis
Ababa, June 02 (ENA)--Fifteen Central Committee members of the Eritrean ruling
party, EPLF, have begun voicing oppositions against the party's leader and the
country's president, Issaias Afeworki, for totalitarianism.

reported from Nairobi, Kenya, that among the high-level Eritrean officials
opposing to the president's rule are EPLF second man, Petros Solomon, former
foreign affairs minister and currently industry minister, Haile Woldensae,
former inland minister, Mohamud Ahmed Sherifo and EPLF Central Committee Member,
Mesfin Hagos.
The
opposing Eritrean authorities in their letter they posted on the Internet said
Eritrea was in chaos caused by the ruling party and the government of the
country.
Copies
of the letter bearing petitions were delivered to the diplomatic missions in
Eritrea, AFP said.
BBC
also reported that the splitting EPLF CC members have accused Issaias of
despotism and abuse of authority.
The
open letter to all 650-thousnad members of the ruling party is signed by 15
senior members of the central council.
The
impact of the letter on the public is likely to be limited due to the people's
restricted access to the Internet. Nevertheless gossips in Asmara spread like
wildfire, according to the BBC report.
