Ethiopia to Host 16th International Technical Committee Meeting on Coffee

Addis Ababa,July 22/07--Ethiopia will host the 16th International Technical Committee Meeting on Coffee due to take place on September 2004, Quality and Standards Authority of Ethiopia (QSAE) said.

Head of Standards Group with QSAE, Zerihun Tessema said Ethiopia was chosen to host the meeting at the 15th Technical Committee meeting of Coffee held in Havana, Cuba, on 20-21 May 2003.

Participants at that meeting had recognized Ethiopia as the home of coffee and decided to accept Ethiopia's request to host the 16th Technical Committee Meeting saying the country deserves to host such a meeting.

Hosting the international coffee meeting would be a good opportunity for the popularization of Ethiopian Coffee, Zerihun said.
