Sufian visits war ravaged areas in Zalambessa, environs

Endasilassie, July 21(ENA)--Minister of Finance and Economic Development announces a comprehensive rehabilitation package soon to be launched targetting citizens deported from Eritrea as well as those displaced due to Eritrea's war of aggression.

Sufian Ahmed made the announcement on Saturday while visiting projects being carried out to rehabilitate the displaced citizens and infrastructure facilities ravaged by the war in Zalambessa and its environs.

After visiting the areas, Sufian said the damages incurred by the war were enormous and activities were in pipeline to expedite the delayed rehabilitation activities through dialogues with the World Bank, the financing body.

The Minister also held discussions in Adigrat town with officials of the Tigray state council and program coordinators on the rehabilitation process launched after the war.

Officials of the regional government on the occasion said the implementing bodies of the rehabilitation program should make their procedure more clear and efficient with a view to preventing delays being witnessed in the execution of projects.

The Minister also looked at the residential quarter built at the Marta locality for the farmers being rehabilitated.
