Ambassador holds talks with Saudi prince

Addis Ababa, July 14(ENA)-- The Ethiopian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mahadi Ahmed  has met and held discussions in Jeddah with second vice prime minister of that country prince sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Sunday.

According to a fax message the embassy sent to ENA, the discussions of the two officials mainly focused on bilateral relations and the situation in the region.

Al- Saud who is also minister of defense and aviation as well as inspector general said he has been following closely the developments in Ethiopia.

He said his country lauds the leading role Ethiopia plays for the establishment of peace and stability in the region.

The relationship between Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia has a long history, he said, adding that Ethiopia is a country where the followers of different religions could live in peace and harmony.

" I would exert utmost efforts to promote the existing bilateral ties to a higher level and I have great respect to the political leadership of the country," the embassy quoted the prince as saying.
