Prosecutor files charges against four rioters  

     Addis Ababa, July 18 (ENA)-- The prosecutor has filed charges    against 4 of the seven youths suspected of involving in property destruction rampage in woreda 13 of the metropolis following the clash between police and the Addis Ababa University   students.

         The four suspects stand trial at the second criminal     bench of the federal high court on Monday to hear the     written charges settled against them by the prosecutor.

         The prosecutor accused the four defendants of setting     alight 13 vehicles, a printing equipment, guard houses     and various other materials at the compound of the     National Examinations Organization.    

     According to the charge file pressed against the accused, the property blighted by the youths was valued at over 12 million Birr.

         The prosecutor said the youths committed the crime after     storming into the premises of the organization and chasing the guards on duty.

         The court has ordered the police to bring the other     three suspects before the court of law.

         The court was adjourned for 11 October.
