Faculty conducts study on feasible electrification options

Addis Ababa, July 28 (ENA)--The Addis Ababa University Technology Faculty says it has conducted a study on feasible electrification options that would help electrify 300 rural towns in the country.

Faculty dean, Dr. Engineer Belay Woldeyes, told ENA recently that the study would soon be submitted to the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) for implementation.

The faculty and EEPCo signed a 480,000-consultancy agreement to implement the study project, Dr. engineer Belay said.

He said the study had identified the necessary measures for the enhancement of local capacity for sustainability of the feasible electrification options.

The electrification options were solar, wind and hydro energies as well as generators, the dean said.
