Popular Dissatisfactions Reportedly Mounting in Eritrea

Addis Ababa, July 26(ENA)--Popular dissatisfaction coupled with the break away of the ruling party is reportedly gaining momentum against the incumbent regime in Asmara, BBC reported.

According to the report monitored here on Thursday, the popular disgruntlement against the government in Asmara was mounting after Eritrea lost a two-year war to Ethiopia.

Eritreans are questioning issues related to the war saying the war could have been avoided or, once it started it could have been stopped, it said.

Most of the young people in Eritrea are still in the army craving desperately to go home and a lot of them wanting to get out of the country.

Local journalists are joking saying "you have to be over 50 in Eritrea to get out because of the obligations in the army...unfortunately, life expectancy is roughly 46 in the country."

The other major threat to the government in Asmara is that posed by the dissidents because the "...guys who have split off and who criticize the president are basically the founding members of the liberation movement, which runs the country".
