Ababa, July 11 (ENA)-- The Ethiopian Agricultural Research Organization (EARO)
announced that it had designed 20-year perspective research strategies.
EARO Director General, Dr.
Seifu Ketema, told 'Merewa' , a bilingual quarterly magazine, that the
organization had also formulated 183 research projects.
The strategies and projects were believed to be instrumental in achieving
food security and food self-sufficiency in the country, he said.
Dr. Seifu said the strategies would also help the country further improve
its quantity and quality of agricultural products both for local and foreign
markets.
The
newly designed projects focus, among others, on crop, animal resources,
agricultural extension and engineering development activities, he said.
