Alliance urges Eritreans to intensify fight against EPLF

Addis Ababa, July 9 (ENA)-- The Alliance of Eritrean National Forces has called on Eritreans to fight against the EPLF's sinister motives to sideline opposition parties from the country's politics.

In a resolution it passed at the conclusion of its second regular conference in Toronto, Canada, the alliance said the regime's autocratic moves would lead the country into further political turmoil.

Currently, the regime was engaged in fake election campaigns just to prolong its grip on power and evade the blame for causing socio-economic and humanitarian crises in the country, the alliance said.

It said peace and democracy in Eritrea were unthinkable in the presence of the bellicose regime.

The alliance urged the people of Eritrea to support its struggle for the establishment of a democratic government that encompasses all political parties.

Over 500 supporters of the alliance attended the conference.
