Ethiopia, Botswana desirous to consolidate bilateral cooperation: Ambassador
Addis Ababa ,Feb.20 (ENA)--The newly appointed Ethiopian Ambassador to Botswana, Tesfaye Habiso presented his letter of credentials to the country's President, Festus Mogae, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Ambassador Tesfaye, who is based in Pretoria, South Africa, said on the occasion that the cooperation between the two countries should further be strengthened, the ministry quoted the Ethiopian Embassy in Pretoria as saying.
According to the ministry's statement sent to ENA on Thursday, president Mogae said the respective governments should encourage their peoples in a bid to implement the various cooperation agreements signed between the two countries.
Ambassador Tesfaye held talks and exchanged views with Botswana foreign affairs as well as trade and industry ministers on ways to further consolidate the existing relations between the two countries.
During his stay in Botswana ambassador Tesfaye briefed the Ethiopian community in that country about the current political and socio-economic developments taking place at home.
He also urged fellow Ethiopians to contribute their share in support of the efforts exerted to save the lives of compatriots affected by the natural calamity.
