Meles receives message from WIPO Director General
Addis Ababa, February 19(ENA)-- Prime Minister Meles Zenawi has received a message sent to him by Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Dr. Kamil Idris.
Meles received at his office on Wednesday the message delivered by WIPO Deputy Director General, Roberto Castelo.
The message contains an invitation to Meles to attend and address a meeting to be held in Beijing in April this year, a senior official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. The Chinese Government and WIPO jointly organize the upcoming meeting.
According to the official, Meles accepted the invitation sent to him from the WIPO Director General through the Deputy.
Meles and Castelo also discussed issues related to WIPO's activities and exchanged views on ways that WIPO supports Ethiopia.
On the occasion, Castelo expressed WIPO's readiness to provide assistance to Ethiopia.
WIPO is one of the specialized agencies under the UN. The Organization has 179 members.
