Spain Decides to Donate 204,000 Euros for Emergency Relief

Addis Ababa, February 19(ENA)-- The government of Spain has decided to donate 204,000 Euros to assist the effort to tackle the problem encountered by the agricultural sector and pastoralists as a result of shortage of rain of in the country, the ministry of foreign affairs said.

According to a statement issued by the ministry on Wednesday, the decision came as a response by the International Cooperation Agency of the Spanish Ministry for Foreign Affairs to the appeal made earlier by the Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Commission.

The Spanish Embassy in Paris had stated that the donation would be channeled to the affected farmers and pastoralists through the World Food Program (WFP) for emergency food aid, the ministry quoted the Ethiopian Embassy in France as saying.
