Meles says AU Summit successful
Addis Ababa, February 5(ENA)-- Prime Minister Meles Zenawi says the 1st extraordinary Summit of the African Union (AU) has been successfully completed. The bilateral cooperation between Ethiopia and Libya was gaining momentum, says Libyan Minister of African Affairs.
Holding talks with the Libyan minister here on Wednesday, Meles said all partners contributed for the successful completion of the Summit.
Meles expressed gratitude to the Ethiopian people and government, Libya and other African countries for their collaboration in all the process of the Summit, a senior official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Meles also briefed the Libyan minister about Ethiopia's efforts through the Inter Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) to bring about peace in Somalia.
The Libyan minister on the occasion delivered a message sent by the Libyan leader who paid a two-day official visit to Ethiopia.
Libya would provide support the efforts underway to bring about peace in Somalia through IGAD.
The Libyan minister commended the way Ethiopia hosted the AU extraordinary Summit.
The cooperation between Libya and Ethiopia was being strengthened, the minister said.
The Ethio-Libyan Joint Ministerial Commission Meeting is scheduled to be held in March this year.
A Libyan delegation would come to Ethiopia prior to the joint ministerial meeting.
