Ethiopian gov't appoints 25 ambassadors
Addis Ababa, Feb. 18(ENA)--The government of Ethiopia has appointed 25 ambassadors here on Monday.
President Girma Wolde-georgis conferred the ambassadorial title on the appointees at a ceremony held here at the national palace.
The president said on the occasion that the newly appointed ambassadors were duty-bound to play a key role in the efforts geared towards accelerating the country's development initiatives.
The ambassadors were expected to do their level best to strengthen the country's foreign relations particularly in the area of trade, President Girma said.
He said the government was ready to provide every necessary support to facilitate the ambassadors' work in their respective duty countries.
One of the appointees, special envoy and plenipotentiary of the Ethiopian government to the U.S, Kasshun Ayele told journalists that he would exert utmost efforts to reinforce the existing Ethio-U.S bilateral ties.
Special envoy and plenipotentiary of the Ethiopian government to Cote d' viore, Tadelech Haile-Michael said on her part that she would do everything in her capacity to bolster the bilateral relations between the two countries and Ethiopia's cooperation with the African Development Bank whose headquarters is in that African country.
The newly appointed ambassadors are: Kassahun Ayele, Dr. Mengistu Huluka, Tadelech Haile-micheal, Konjit Sene-georgis, Tesfaye Habiso, Brigadier general Asamenew Bedane, Denberu Alemu, Belete Reda, Shemsedin Ahmed, Webshet Demessie, Yohannes Ginda, Abdi Dolal, Dr. Brehanu Dibaba, Murad Mussa, Cham Ugala, Hiruy Amanuel, Girma Amare, Feseha Adugna, Brehanu Kebede, Negash Kibret, Hanfere Alimerah, Dena Mufti,Abdulaziz Ahmed, Biruk Debebe and Tiruneh Zena.
