Addis Ababa, Feb. 12 (ENA)--The Ethio-Dutch Friendship Association has been established at the Royal Tropical Institute on January 19 this year, the Ethiopian consulate at The Hague said.

The Association was composed of Ethiopians and Dutch citizens, who have a profound knowledge about the history and culture of the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs quoted the consulate as saying.

Speaking at the ceremony member of the association, Alem!tu Desta, said the establishment of the association would have a significant importance in further strengthening the ties between the peoples of the two nations.

Consul general of the Ethiopian embassy in the Netherlands, Habtom Abreha, gave briefings on the occasion about the current status of the Ethio-Netherlands bilateral relations as well as the present socio-economic and political situation in Ethiopia.
