Ethiopia, Sudan Reaffirm to Further Cement Bilateral Ties

Addis Ababa, Feb. 11(ENA)-- Ethiopia and the Sudan have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen bilateral ties in the economic, political and social fields of cooperation.

This was said while Prime Minister Meles Zenawi received and held talks here on Monday with the Sudanese delegation led by Inland Minister, Dr. Abdurahim Mohammed Hussein.

During the talks the two parties recognized that the ongoing Ethio-Sudanese wide-ranging bilateral cooperation would signify regional cooperation and integration.

The eight-member Sudanese delegation has the mission of facilitating the visit to Ethiopia of the First Vice President of that country whose earlier schedule was suspended due to health problems, according to senior official with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Sudanese delegation leader on his part said relations on wide-ranging fields of cooperation were being cemented between the two neighboring countries.

The Sudanese delegation would be conferring with Ethiopian senior officials on issues of bilateral cooperation and other mutual concerns.
