Support for drought stricken citizens continue to pour in
Addis Ababa, Dec. 18(ENA)--Members of the army and civil servants of the Ministry of Defense have decided to donate 14 million Birr to drought affected compatriots.
According to a press release the Ministry sent to ENA on Wednesday, the Ministry pledged to provide transportation service to the disaster prevention and preparedness commission.
Similarly, Ethiopians in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, donated 590,259 Birr while students of the Addis Ababa University pledged 804,641 Birr for the same cause.
Meanwhile, workers of the Ministry of Federal Affairs pledged 10 to 20 percent of their one-month salary.
In a related story, employees of Mesfin industrial engineering plc. donated 85,352 Birr while teachers and workers of 'Kimir Dingay' primary school pledged three percent of their one-month salary.
Teachers and workers of the Maichew Technical College, Tigray state, also donated 22,000 Birr for similar purpose.
