Spain To Dispatch Additional Relief Assistance To Ethiopia: Departing Ambassador
Addis Ababa, Dec. 12(ENA)--The departing Spanish Ambassador to Ethiopia said his country would give an additional relief assistance to Ethiopia in support of drought affected people.
The ambassador, Pablo Zaldivar Miquelarena said Spain would also share its experience it achieved in the areas of tourism.
During talks he held here on Thursday with President Girma Wolde-Giorgis at the end of his tour of duty in Ethiopia, the ambassador said his country would dispatch emergency relief assistance to help the country avert the looming humanitarian crisis.
He said Spain had also responded earlier to the appeal made by the federal Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Commission through European Union according to a spokesperson from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
President Girma said on his part that Ethiopia was desirous to get the support of Spain in the areas of tourism development.
Ethiopia and Spain established diplomatic relations in 1951.
