Gov't owned enterprises pledge 28 million Birr for drought affected citizens
Addis Ababa, Dec. 11(ENA)--More than 140 government owned enterprises have decided to donate over 28 million Birr in support of citizens affected by the drought induced food shortage.
The pledge came following a relevant meeting held here on Wednesday by executives of the enterprises.
Chairman of the fund raising interim committee of the enterprises Juneidi Basha said the donation would be made in cash and in kind.
The committee will hand over the donation to the Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Commission, he said.
The reported sum includes deductions from workers' salary, he indicated.
