Contributions in support of drought-hit citizens continue to pour in
Region Dec. 3(ENA)--Various sections of the society have continued contributing funds for citizens affected by the drought induced food shortage.
Accordingly, civil serants in Nono woreda of West Shoa zone deposited a sum of nearly 19,000 Birr last Friday, Woreda Chairman Adane Deriba told ENA on Monday.
Workers of the Dragados construction at the Tarmaber-Woldiya project site decided to donate 5 to10 percent of their one month salary, Oromia zone rural roads department head Solomon Seife said.
Similarly, instructors and workers of the Hossana Teachers' Training Institute pledged 7 percent of their one month salary for the drought-hit compatriots and 3 percent for AIDS orphaned children.
Teachers and Workers of the Arbegnoch School in Harar town gave 10 percent of their one month salary, according to School director Assefa Mengistu.
In a similar development, workers of the Pepsi Bottling in Dessie town pledged 5 percent of their one month salary for the same cause.
