Ethiopia condemns Mombassa terrorist attack

Addis Ababa, Dec. 3 (ENA)--Ethiopia condemns the recent terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of innocent people and destroyed property as well as the missiles fired to bring down a plane carrying civilian passengers in Mombassa, Kenya, ministry of foreign affairs said.

According to a statement the ministry sent to ENA on Monday, Ethiopia would continue and strengthen its efforts in the fight against terrorism in all available forums.

The death of innocent people and the destruction of property was not the concern of the terrorists, it said, adding that the terrorists couldn't escape accountability to the heinous crimes they are committing whatever their causes may be.

" It has been long ago that our region has become the target of terrorists. Ethiopia has been tirelessly working to stop the terrorists activities and would continue to do everything in its power in the future as well."

Ethiopia fully understands that the crimes committed by the terrorists couldn’t be justified by any standard and should be condemned for their barbaric and cowardly acts, it said.

The international community should work in cooperation and coordinate efforts to stop the heinous crimes perpetrated by terrorists, the statement said.
