Nomination committees commence joint regular meeting , elect secretaries

Addis Ababa, Dec. 28(ENA)--Nomination committees of members for the office of the human rights commission and ombudsman have officially announced the convening of their joint regular task here on Thursday.

Addressing the committee members’ speaker of the house of peoples' representatives Dawit Yohannes said the house has taken various constructive measures during the last two years to realize the establishment of the institutions.

He said the experiences gained from 30 countries as well as the conferences organized both at  national and international level have enabled to prepare a document that could facilitate ways for the establishment of the democratic institutions.

The committees have comprised members of the house, president of the federal Supreme Court, representatives of religious institutions as well as opposition political parties, he said.

During their session the members have elected members of the house of peoples' representatives Abdulaziz Ahmed secretary of the human rights commission and Asmaru Berihun as secretary of the Ombudsman nomination committees.
