Discussions on PRSP concluded successfully

Addis Ababa, Dec. 26 (ENA)--Discussions on the Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) held at woreda level across the nation except four states have wound up successfully, the federal PRSP preparation office said.

Education and public relations coordinator with the office, Getachew Admasu, told ENA on Tuesday that similar discussions would continue in the remaining four regions namely Somali, Afar, Tigray and Oromia national states.

The discussion documents have been dispatched to all states since the launching of the strategy, he said, adding the deliberations on the paper were conducted in a free and transparent manner.

Representatives of donor countries who attended the discussions expressed their satisfaction over the comprehensive deliberations, Getachew said.

He said the federal technical committee has offered relevant training to moderators of the discussions.

The states that hosted the PRSP discussions at the woreda level were prepared to extend the scope of the deliberations to regional level, Getachew said.

He said the paper would finally be submitted to the government after discussions at regional and federal levels.
