Activities reorganizing trade associations to be launched soon

Addis Ababa, April 22(ENA)-- The Trade and Industry Ministry has announced that activities would soon be launched to reorganize commercial and sector associations in line with the recently promulgated bill.

The Minister Girma Birru made the announcement here on Thursday at the opening of the 27th general assembly of the Addis Ababa Chambers of Commerce.

The reorganization activities would be carried out by the federal government in collaboration with regional states, he said.

He said the reorganization is aimed at bringing about better integration of the government and the business community through discussion forums.

He called on all members of the business community to contribute to the realization of the reorganization endeavors.

AACC deputy president Eyesuswork Zafu said on the occasion that exemplary achievement was gained during this years international trade fair in which businesses from 26 countries participated.

In the trade fair, 123 local and 122 foreign companies had participated, he indicated.

AACC's 1995 E.C. audit report was presented at the assembly.
