Bahir Dar , Aug. 23(ENA)--Free scholarships have been given to more than 500 people in the Amhara state over the past one year, the state's capacity building bureau announced.

Accordingly, 92 people were sent abroad for short or long term training, head of training department with the bureau, Tilaye Gete told ENA.

He said 428 others benefited from the free postgraduate scholarships locally.

Similarly, short and long term on-job training programs were organized for health and legal professionals, he indicated.

He said the bureau was preparing directives and strategies providing for streamlining human resource development endeavors.
