TDA Earmarks 23 million Birr To Development Projects

Mekele, August 17(ENA)-- The Tigray Development Association (TDA) said it has approved a 23 million Birr budget for the execution of the various development projects during the current Ethiopian fiscal year.

TDA International director, Tesfaegzi Abera told reporters on Saturday that the association would secure the stated sum from association’s treasury and other humanitarian organizations.

Tesfaegzi said 10.6 million Birr of the budget was allotted to training of teachers and educating of women, procurement of educational inputs while the balance was earmarked to social service development activities including health.

The association has plans to distribute 200 computer sets it has obtained from London to the various schools existing in the state.

The association had utilized only 16.6 million of the 28 million Birr budget allocated in the past Ethiopian fiscal year, he added.
