Ethiopia, UNFPA Sign 24.5 Million USD Grant Accord

Addis Ababa, Aug. 9(ENA)--The government of Ethiopia and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) signed a 24.5 Million USD grant agreement here on Thursday at the conference hall of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development (MoFED).

According to the agreement, the fund would be used to support the government's efforts in the area of Integrated Reproductive Health Services, population and development Strategies, advocacy and program coordination.

Increasing access of all population groups to quality and integrated reproductive health services and of access to behavior change communication for women, men and adolescents, are some of the activities that would be undertaken with the stated fund.

A sum of 16.7 million USD dollars is earmarked to finance Population and Development strategies, 1.3 million USD for advocacy and the balance for program coordination.

MoFED State Minister, Dr. Mulu Kestela and UNFPA Representative, Dr. Benson C. Morah signed the agreement.
