Negaso
says Ethiopia keen to invigorate ties with Japan
Addis
Ababa August 14(ENA)-- President Negaso Gidada says his country is desirous to
shore up its bilateral relations with Japan particularly in the areas of trade,
investment and tourism.
Receiving
the credentials of the newly appointed Japanese ambassador to Ethiopia, Ihara
Hiroyoshi, Negaso said Ethiopia was ready to bolster the existing development
cooperation between the two countries.
Negaso
commended on the occasion Japan's development assistance to Ethiopia
particularly in the fields of road construction, electricity and potable water
provision, a spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Japan
was the second highest importer of Ethiopian coffee, he said and called on the
government of Japan to enhance its trade and industrial ties with Ethiopia.
Ambassador
Hiroyoshi said on his part that he would do his level best to consolidate the
Ethio-Japan bilateral relations.
Meanwhile,
the departing Senegalese ambassador to Ethiopia, Papa Louis Fall, took leave of
president Negaso here on Tuesday.
