UNMEE military coordination 8th regular meeting held

Addis Ababa August 8(ENA)--The United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE) military coordination commission's 8th regular meeting was held in Nairobi, Kenya, on Wednesday, the commission's coordination bureau said.

  The bureau told ENA that the meeting was held with a view to reassessing the sticky issues that have not been agreed at the 7th regular session and to pass decisions.

 However, the bureau said due to Eritrea’s unwillingness to cooperate, the mission has decided to hold another meeting in October this year.

 UNMEE has dismissed Eritrea’s allegations that claimed Ethiopia has deployed its troops in the eastern flank of the Temporary Security Zone (TSZ) as unfounded.

 UNMEE has also requested Eritrea to refrain from accusing Ethiopia by disseminating malicious propaganda, the bureau said.
