500,000 Drought-Hit In Afar Receiving Relief Food

Addis Ababa, April 28(ENA)-- Relief food is being distributed to 500,000 drought-stricken people in Afar State, the State Disaster Prevention and Prepardness Bureau said.

Distribution Expert with Bureau, Mushmed Ahmed told ENA on Monday that the victims were receiving a one-month food ration.

The assistnace under distribution amounts to 59,000 quintals supplied by the Federal Disaster Prevention and Prepardness Commission.

Over 38,800 quintals of relied food was apportioned among over 283,000 affected people in the state between Januray and March.
