ICRC repatriates 98 Ethiopian civilians
Addis Ababa, April 18(ENA)--Some 98 Ethiopian civilians have been repatriated from Eritrea to Ethiopia under the auspices of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The returnees crossed the border at Mereb Bridge, between the towns of Rama (Ethiopia) and Adi Quala (Eritrea), an ICRC press release sent to ENA on Friday said.
ICRC delegates based in Eritrea and Ethiopia accompanied the Ethiopians before being placed in the care of the Ethiopian authorities.
Volunteers from the Ethiopian Red Cross Society and the Red Cross Society of Eritrea took part in the operation, handing out food and water to the returnees on their respective sides of the border, it said.
