Ministry, companies sign project agreements

Addis Ababa, April 14 (ENA)-- The Ministry of Mines and two private companies have signed agreements providing for a ten million Birr salt and mineral water mining projects.

Minister of Mines, Ambassador Mohamoud Dirir signed the agreement with Abduraheman Ali Abdela, Deputy Manager of Bashanfer Trading Company and Fitsum kelelom General Manager of I.T.F. Company here on Monday.

According to a press release of the ministry, the agreement enables Bashanfer Trading Company to mine edible salt at the lake Afdera in the Afar State for the next ten years.

The company would extract the salt from over 18,000 square meters of land and provide jobs for 73 people.

The agreement signed with I.T.F. Company provides for the production of mineral water for the next twenty years from kaliti area of the Addis Ababa City administration.

The release said I.T.F. would bottle 4,640,000 million liters of mineral water annually. I.T.F. would create jobs for 45 people.
