22 farmers' training centers being built through participatory campaign

Addis Ababa, April 14(ENA)-- Residents of the Wore Ile Woreda in Central zone of the Tigray State have been carrying out the construction of 22 farmers' training centers through the contribution of free labor.

More than 30,000 people are taking part in the construction activities, the Woreda rural development office said.

According to office head, Gebremichael Yehuala, the labor contributions of the residents is valued at an estimated one million Birr.

The centers are intended to provide the local farmers with training in the areas of modern farming, animal husbandry and input use, he indicated.

The government has earmarked 150,000 Birr for the construction activities expected to complete in June this year, he added.

The centers will comprise classrooms, demonstration units and other utilities.
