Meles visits water harvesting, integrated agriculture dev't projects in Amhara State
Region April 8(ENA)-- Prime Minister Meles Zenawi has visited the ongoing participatory water harvesting and integrated agriculture development activities in the Amhara State.
Prime Minister Meles was accompanied by the federal and State government officials during the field visits to various project sites.
On Monday, Meles looked at the reported activities in Sekota Woreda of Wag Himra zone where the local farmers have been engaged in ground and rain water harvesting for clean water supply and farming.
Meles and the senior officials also visited similar activities being carried out by farmers in North Wollo zone and Bugina Woreda.
Similarly, on Tuesday Meles visited the participatory activities underway in Meket Woreda of North Wollo zone to withstand the impact of Drought.
The Prime Minister also visited soil and water conservation endeavors by farmers and the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) in Tach Gayint Woreda of South Gondar zone.
