Public participation said decisive force to curb corruption
Addis Ababa, April 4(ENA)--The Ministry of Information called for consolidated and continuing efforts in developing further the success and results achieved so far in the fight against corruption.
In a statment it issued on Friday, the Ministry's press, information and documentation department said the various activities carried out so far by the public as whistle blowers against corruption are encouraging.
It however said, the measures and activities realized so far in the anti-corruption efforts are only at the initial stage.
The statement noted that the success of the anti corruption move lies, to a greater extent, on the concerted and intensive efforts of the public at large as well as the government.
"The important role of the judiciary in dealing with corruption in accordance with the provisions of the law is also crucial for the success of this important struggle," it said.
"It must be stressed once again that the enormous and intensive national efforts to ensure sustainable democratic process, rapid development and peace in our country hinges on our determination and commitment to mitigate and control corruption," it said.
The statement called upon all citizens to "leave no stone unturned" and to mobilize all means available to wipe out corruption from the country.
