793 Displaced People Returned To Birthplaces In Gambella
Gambella, May 22(ENA)-- Some 793 people, who were displaced as a result of the violence in Gambella State and who were residing in a temporarily set up shelters, returned to their original places, the State Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Office said.
Office Head, Tesfaye Ereso told ENA on Friday that the stated number of people who were displaced from various resettlement sites found in the state were living in shelters set up in schools existing in Gambella town.
Some 519 quintals of relief food and 96 quintals of select seed as well as agricultural implements were supplied to the displaced recently, he said.
Tesfaye said the distribution of relief food to the displaced would continue until they are rehabilitated.
