HIV/AIDS Office Says To Provide 12.8 mIllion Birr To Various Organizations

Addis Ababa, May 22(ENA)-- The National HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Office said it would extend a sum of 12.8 million Birr to various organizations engaged in HIV/AIDS prevention and control activities.

Advocacy and Sensitization Coordination Office Deputy Head, Dr. Teklu Belay said the state amount of money would be allocated from the 55 million Birr secured from Global Fund in 2003.

The Office would sign an agreement enabling it to provide the sum to the Medical Faculty of the Addis Ababa University, Nutritious Food Research Institute, the Ethiopian Red Cross Society and Christian Relief Development Agency next week.

The 55 million Birr obtained from the Global Fund will be released step by step in a period of two years.
