UN Special Envoy On HIV/AIDS Arrives Here On Working Visit

Addis Ababa, May 20(ENA)-- United Nations Special Envoy on HIV/AIDS in Africa Stephen Lewis arrived here on Wednesday on a working visit to Ethiopia.

In a brief statement he gave up on his arrival at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, Lewis said the objective of his visit was to assess and discuss situation of HIV/AIDS with pertinent government officials to further enhance prevention activities in the country.

While here, Lewis is expected to hold talks with senior government officials on HIV/AIDS prevention and control activities being made in Ethiopia.

He said he would also attend an International Conference on issues of children and HIV/AIDS in Africa to covene here on Friday.

Lewis will also visit various projects related to HIV/AIDS prevention and control activities.
