Up on arrival to
destination: |
-
Turn the mobile handset on. Provided you
are within the coverage area, you should be able to automatically register
on the available network within a minute.
-
You can select the network of your choice
by scrolling through the menu on your handset and manually select from the
list of available networks.
-
To dial Ethiopia Dial +251 followed by
the area code and telephone number. NB: Remember to drop the 0 prefix of
the area code eg. +251 1 for Addis Ababa. For Mobile numbers dial +251 9 followed with the rest of the
number.
-
To dial local numbers in the country you
are in, dial the area code and the number, as you would in Ethiopia.
-
Callers from Ethiopia will dial your
normal Mobile phone number.
|
|
Call Charging |
-
All charges will be passed directly to
the mobile account in Ethiopia, where the Mobile telephone bill will
itemise the total usage. Outgoing calls are charged at the foreign
network's standard rate.
-
All calls received while roaming will
also be charged to the roaming subscriber account in ETHIOPIA.
Remember, it is important to avoid these charges otherwise,
the caller pays for a normal call to a Mobile phone while the roaming
subscriber would pay for the international part of the call.
-
Roaming tariffs differ from country to
country. Check the tariffs that apply to the country you are visiting
before you leave.
