Addis Ababa, May 29(ENA)--Society of Ethiopians Established in the Diaspora (SEED) awarded Dr. Minas Hiruy general manager of HOPE enterprises, on 24, May 2003 a trophy for his outstanding achievements in humanitarian activities.

According to a press release the enterprise sent to ENA on Thursday, Dr. Minas is awarded the memorial cup for his remarkable efforts in rehabilitating and supporting disadvantaged compatriots over the past 16 years.

Dr. Minas can be taken as a role model for Ethiopians in the Diaspora, it said.

The active involvement of Ethiopians in the Diaspora in taking part in the investment activities underway in the country was encouraging, Dr. Minas said in his speech after the award ceremony.

Hope Enterprise has been supporting over 10,000 destitute and orphaned children in Addis Ababa city as well ass Amhara and Gambella states.

SEED is organized to promote the interest of Ethiopians progressively throughout America.
