House Members Visit Enterprise

Addis Ababa, May 21(ENA)-- The Ethiopian Archive and Library Enterprise said it has launched activities aimed at establishing information supply system to be able to provide effective services to the public. A building being constructed at a cost of 27 million Birr by the enterprise was also nearing completion.

Enterprise General Director Atiklt Assefa made the remark while briefing the members of the Information and Cultural Affairs Committee of the House of Peoples Representatives here on Friday.

Atkilt said the enterprise was engaged in recording various reserach papers in different fields on voice recording equipment over the last two months to be able to pass them from one generation to other.

He told the members that the organization was collecting information materials through purchasing, donation and exchange from various sources.

The General Director said 12 historical manuscripts including a 900-page scroll, were registered by the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO) as heritage.

The construction of the building scheduled to be finalized in the coming Ethiopian year.
